Good morning and welcome to church today. I especially welcome each father, thank you so much for beginning your special day in church.

I love this quote by Clarence Budington Kelland “He didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.” I great reminder to each of us fathers that the way we live is vitally important because we are being watched.

If you have children or grandchildren you know how they love being the center of attention; they  compete with each other to be the center of attention. Unfortunately, many times as adults we still want to be the center of attention and instead of having a God-centered approach to life we continue to have a me-centered approach.

This is what I want to talk about this week in our series “Rock Solid in a Shaky World”. Living successfully, which is my goal for each of us, begins with the center and building our life around it. The spokes of our life come from our center – our relationships, finances, family, work, dreams, goals, church and even God. We will all build our lives around something. So what will that be?  I pray that we will understand the importance of living a God-centered life.

Remember, next Sunday will be our annual business meeting. I encourage all voting members to make it a priority to attend.
